The Getty is constructed of premium 12-gauge material and its doors feature 2" thickness, steel thresholds, and bullet hinges with welded-on grease fittings. Pre-drilled tabs with holes are welded on the jamb to facilitate installation. This energy-efficient product contains 5/8" dual-pane tempered glass, utilizing dual seals to minimize heat and air loss. Additionally, each frame is equipped with Polyurethane dual foam weather stripping, contributing to reduced temperature transfer. In addition, this weather stripping is installed at the bottom of your door to restrict sound, light, drafts, insects, and moisture infiltration.

There are four essential types of door swings.

Right Hand in Swing (RHI): To determine what a right hand in swing is, stand on the exterior side of the door facing it. The handle or lock will be on your left while the hinges lie to your right. When you open the door, it should pivot inward from left to right so that its fullest position rests against its inner component.

Right Hand in Swing (LHI): To ensure that your right-hand side handles and hinges are set correctly, stand outside with the exterior side facing you. Your handle or lock will now be on your right hand. This means that once open, the door should rest against its interior frame on its left side.

Right Hand Out Swing (RHO): Get ready to open the door with your right hand - you'll need to stand outside, facing toward it. A lock or handle should rest on your left while the hinges remain on the outer-right edge. When opened, this door will swing outwards from left to right until resting against its exterior right side.

Left Hand Out Swing (LHO): Standing outside a door, the handle or lock on your right and hinges to your exterior left means you have an LHO (Left Hand Out) swing. When open, it will rest on its outer side. This opening is great for porches as fresh air flow can come in with minimal obstruction.

Installation & Custom Sizes

Bore holes in a door are essential for the proper installation of hardware. This opening houses your lockset, allowing it to be securely connected to the face of your door, thus providing you with safe access.

This special 'doorknob' hole on a door face can be quickly and easily drilled in wood with a precise hole saw. The same tool makes short work of creating an essential cross bore - or latch holes. With every in-stock order, you'll find these necessary components pre-drilled.

Correct Measuring Options

Center to Center: Measuring the distance between the center points of two bore holes. This ensures you purchase compatible locks from an outside hardware store.
Backset: The backset is the measurement from your door's edge to the center of the 2-1/8" bore hole. It defines what latch or deadbolt size you need.

How Our Products Are Measured

At our company, we measure the size of doors from the outside of their jambs. For example, if a door is listed as 72" x 96", these dimensions refer to its external width and height, respectively - not the actual sizes of your new door!

That's why our customers should allow for some margin in rough opening to ensure proper installation. We recommend adding an extra 1/2" -1" on both sides (width & height). This will give space needed by professionals so they can set up the jamb correctly inside the rough opening while leveling it off.

In-stock single doors typically feature two pre-drilled bore holes for one active lock (unless specified differently).
In-stock double doors come with two pre-drilled bore holes on each door, for one active lock and one dummy lock (unless specified differently).
PINKYS locks are shipped unattached to their doors, as any installation on the door prior to its arrival may cause potential damage. This way, customers can rest assured that their purchase will arrive in perfect condition - ready for professional lock-fitting by an expert installer once the door is fully installed.
